AIRLINE PILOT & PHOTOGRAPHER

My name is Miguel Suárez. I'm a Boeing 737 airline pilot and a photographer specialising in aviation. Two professions united by one passion: flight.

My journey into photography began almost twenty years ago. However, it was during my teenage years, thanks to the Gijón Air Festival, that I realised aviation would be much more than just another hobby. It would become my true passion, my calling, and my dream: to fly.

I go through life observing light, shapes, perspectives, and the smallest details. And the rest of the time… I simply can't help looking up at the sky.

Through my photography, I aim to convey the power, elegance, and emotion of flight. I'm just as fascinated by the spectacle of an aerial manoeuvre as I am by the human element behind every aircraft. I try to get as close as possible to reveal the complexity of these machines, highlighting every line, texture, and detail without losing the natural feel of the scene.
Just like flying, photography involves a great deal of preparation before the moment of execution, followed by the editing process, which plays a significant role in the impact of the final image. My approach to editing is to bring out the best in each photograph while always remaining true to reality, achieving a clean, natural result that faithfully reflects the scene I witnessed.

Beyond that, I feel a deep need to share what I love, help others, inspire people, and encourage a passion for aviation through my work. That's why I see aviation photography as an important part of promoting aviation culture and sharing it with a wider audience.

Over the years, I've had the opportunity to receive awards and recognition in photography competitions, have my images published in magazines and specialised media, and see many of my photographs find their way into the homes and personal spaces of people who share the same passion.
